Week of Prayer began after supper on Sunday evening as Charissa Fong, having travelled all the way from Australia, began to share with a group of around 100 students and staff. Throughout the week she shared personal testimonies from her own life as well as what God has taught her. Each of her sermons centered on a specific Bible story or verse. Week of Prayer isn’t all about the meetings, however. In between the morning and evening meetings, prayer and an uplifting spirit pervaded each day. As the week progressed it was not uncommon to see small groups of students praying together in an empty room or in the corner of the hallway. A prayer wall was set up where people could post their written requests using colored sticky notes. Saturday night commenced with a communion service, followed with a sharing time for personal testimonies, and ended with an Agape Feast that provided an elegant array of lovely fruits and vegetables. Those in attendance were challenged to share their faith and many were reminded of the importance of a deep relationship with God.
