As I stood, I felt everyone’s eyes on me. Pastor Daniel Pel had made an appeal for anyone who felt Christ impacting their heart to get baptized, and one by one we had stood. There were six of us who were impressed by the Holy Spirit, and Pastor Daniel asked us to come to the front for a prayer of dedication. As the staff laid their hands on us, and the rest of the students pressed in closer, I knew this was the right decision. It was the end of the Week of Prayer, and the beginning of our new lives in Christ.
During the week, we were inspired with Daniel Pel’s talks on the book of Romans and the unhindered gospel. At every morning meeting, we started our day with fifteen minutes of prayer. He taught us the ACST prayer model, which stands for Adoration, Confession, Supplication, and Thanksgiving. Spending those minutes in united prayer with my friends relieved burdens from my heart and brought me closer to my Savior. In the evening meetings, Pastor Daniel taught us about a new way to look at the Ten Commandments; God appeals to us, “You don’t have to do evil, because I will be enough for you.” This really touched my heart, and now I want Jesus to be my best friend forever.
