“Hello, my name is Nathan, I am certified in first aid. Can I help you?” No response. Rushing to put on my gloves I yell, “Natalie, quick! Call 911 and get an AED!” My heart beat along with the rhythm of my CPR as I worked frantically to resuscitate the dying dummy. From bandaging bullet wounds to splinting sprains to performing CPR, First aid was a truly great experience. First, we had two days of training, where we went through what to do and how to do it. Then we took a written exam about the things we learned, and finally we took a practical exam where situations were presented before us and we were tested on how we dealt with them. I learned so much and now feel prepared to face any first aid situation. God gives is a first-aider for us, and most importantly, for our hearts. Yes, he bandages the bullet wounds, splints the sprains, and performs the CPR on our hearts. Psalm 147:3 says, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Praise God that He is always the first res-ponder to my spiritual emergencies!
