It’s been a while since a heavy rainfall has threatened the First Campout campers of Fountainview Academy. The old-timers suggest that it has been approximately 7 years since the last prolonged rain storm at such an event. Well, suffice it to say—this was not one of those warm, sunny weekends. The dry niches of the house boat soon became very popular places, and a quickly erected tarp-town allowed for some refuge from the chilling precipitation. However, the rain revealed a hidden blessing: crowding together in these tight shelters provided a time to draw closer together and commune with fellow students and staff as friends in Christ. When the sun peaked out of the clouds on Sabbath afternoon, a beautiful rainbow unfolded, reminding us once again of God’s promises and redeeming grace that He offers to each one of us.
